Well you can only imagine the insanity I was exposed to this past week as I went into the lions' den of Myrtle Beach during Bike Week for the Full Throttle Fest at the House of Blues! I'm not even going to attempt to cover all that went down but here's a few highlights:
Tessa and I got to our hotel around 11:30 Thursday morning and unpacked and took showers then went down the road to the House of Blues to get set up for my first day of broadcasting. Upon arriving, I saw hot half naked chicks everywhere! And that was JUST the bartenders! THEN the Flaunt Girls showed up and I got a pic with the lovely ladies in between on-air breaks!
Later that day, former WWE Diva Christy Hemme arrived with her band HEMME to play some tunes out on the deck....and to pose with the sexiest radio personality from Greenville at the event (an easy tag to live up to being the ONLY one out there at that time - Nine arrived late the next night)!
I also managed to get Tyler and Dave from THEORY OF A DEADMAN by my table for a quick interview and video shoot. You can check out the video on Planet Vision LIVE
although the audio isn't very good. However, the boys put on a great show that night in the concert hall!
Friday started out with a bang as I was busy doing my social networking then looked up only to see Darryl McDaniels aka DMC of RUN-DMC chilling at another table. I quickly got him to stop by and do an interview and video shoot. You can check out the video also at Planet Vision LIVE
and the interview in our Audio Vault
and my pic with him below.
After getting my picture taken with all of the Flaunt Girls, I was getting numerous requests for pics of Angie from the Full Throttle Saloon and I DELIVERED!
That night I managed to catch up with Nine for a few at the Marshall Tucker Band show then I went and met up with my cousin Tonya and her husband Soup at Steak 'n Shake for some late night munchies!
Tonya and Soup got to join Tessa and I for most of the day on Saturday. When Jesse made his rounds during my broadcast, he even gave me enough passes for all of us to go backstage that night! To top it off, he even got us into the Purple Haze private party room directly above the stage before JACKYL's set! And what a set it was complete with Jesse's trademark chainsaw solo during "The Lumberjack" and featuring a three-song set with DMC as they performed "It's Tricky", "Just Like a Negro" and "Walk This Way"!
After the show, we went back to the deck for a few minutes then parted ways and went back to the room to get some rest before the next day's trip home. It was a total blast but I am glad to be home! Having said that, I do hope they do this again next year!
