Back in the early 90's, I used to frequent Paradise Lounge in San Francisco. Downstairs at Paradise you would be able to see a full band performance. Upstairs, you can chill and listen to an acoustic set. On one particular night, my Boy Friend Patrick took me to Paradise to check out this guy named Adam. He told me that his friend Franky went to school with Adam. We "had" to go see him. Everyone knew that Adam was going to be signed one day. Adam was awesome. He was also one of the nicest people I had met in a long time. A few years later, I moved to South Carolina. I was so happy to listen to Adam's voice on the radio. Wow, "August and Everything." Adam Duritz did become a big star! I became a DJ and played his music.
Last night my Husband surprised me with these concert tickets. The night was perfect under the stars at Charter Amphitheater. A cool breeze and a totally relaxed atmosphere.
As I watched the Counting Crows, I remembered San Francisco and Berkeley. Paradadise Lounge was a place were magic happened. I don't think that Adam Duritz has changed any.
He will always be a great story teller and lyricist.
