Summing up a journey that I still consider to be ongoing is tough. In fact, it's just getting started. For the past 6 months I've been working with Clay Burwell and Elizabeth Burwell, owners and trainers at Greenville's High Performance Gym. You've seen me post photos of the work outs and multiple before and after pictures. My body has changed tremendously over the last half year, and I'm very proud of what I've accomplished, but I really am just getting started.
I could go into detail about how 1 hour a day of working out has changed my life for the better. It's made me more positive, more assertive, more confident, but I'd rather challenge you to do the same thing. Now, you may not be in the same position I was in when I started. I was looking to lose about 10-15 lbs and bulk up. You might need to lose 20, 30, 50 lbs before you're ready to start the more advanced workouts that Clay programs, but that's okay. We have a member who was vastly over weight when he came in and has dropped close to 30 lbs in just over 3 months, and he did it the right way. No diet pills, no injections, no surgeries, just hard work and clean eating.
I read something that scared me the other day: today's children are the first generation since the great depression expected to live shorter lives than their parents. Think about that. Do this for your own health, your own life, but do it to set an example to your children.
14 lbs down, muscle up, stamina up, conditioning up. This is only the beginning.
